Annie Winston has been in education both as a teacher and children's author for twenty years. She earned her BA in Social Sciences  at the University California Berkeley.  Annie wrote the award-winning, historical fiction book,  Admiral Wright’s Heroical Storicals, Daniel Boone and the Battle of Boonesborough. A second book in the series has been written on Harriet Tubman. She has authored  an unpublished children’s youth fiction book, “The TrollMates" and co-developed an under-the-sea-world software game (www.fuzzybrainlost.com) that teaches reading and writing skills to kids using classic works of. literature. Annie has ghost written several books and worked as a free lance editor. In 2013/2014 she served as the Author/Ambassador for the San Francisco Giants, Fresno Grizzlies Wild About Reading Program at Chuckchansi Stadium. Since 2003 Annie's been a  frequent speaker at public schools, libraries, and special author events where she encourages students with a strong literacy and positive character message.  In addition to speaking to students, Annie is an inspiring motivational speaker who talks about  'Creatively Conquering Quitting Points' based  on her overcoming story as a survivor of domestic violence. Annie has appeared in the LA TimesOC Register, and the OC Family magazine about her life and work as an author. From 2008-2011 she served as a founding board member of the Barack Obama Charter School in LAUSD. 

Annie lives in Clovis, California with her husband and three college age children. She has an identical twin and at one time she was featured as one of the Doublemint commercial twins.
